Zeigler’s Storage & Transfer, Inc. is one of the oldest moving companies in the state of Pennsylvania. The firm is a fifth generation family owned business.

In 1887, services were started by James Calvin Zeigler by hauling mail over Sterretts Gap to Perry County in a stage coach. As people requested their belongings and other items hauled back to Carlisle, the first team of horses and open wagons began the Zeigler family’s moving business.

Upon James Zeigler’s death in 1936, the business was sold to his sons Hugh Rice and James Leon Zeigler. Hugh’s son Clayton and his wife, Jean then purchased the business in 1951. Today, several members of the Zeigler family continue to operate the business.

Our facility stores household goods in palletized containers. Palletized storage is a long-standing industry standard. The containers are built to preserve furniture and provide the utmost protection for your goods, whether short term or long term storage, your goods will be protected. All furniture is individually wrapped and padded for protection while palletized.

Furniture racks give tremendous storage density, increased air circulation valuable floor space and handling efficiency. Racking is perfect for oversized and upholstered items.
