WE DO THE HEAVY LIFTING FOR YOU
Varsity Movers LLC has been a team concept from the beginning! Not many businesses are built by a Mom + Son team, but Varsity Movers was! Mary Murphy has been a lifelong entrepreneur. During her maternity leave following the birth of Kierin, she started her own brick & mortar kids’ cooking & reading program called Hooray for Books. She built that business from the ground up and eventually franchised the concept and has since built 3 other businesses. She loves sharing her entrepreneurial spirit with others, Kierin included!
A MOVING COMPANY FOUNDED AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE
When a mom in a Facebook chat room asked about needing a strong son to lift a couch, Mary didn’t even ask before volunteering Kierin! He didn’t have a job at the time, as a school during the day and sports in the afternoon made it nearly impossible to find employment that would accommodate an athlete’s schedule! That initial job turned into a few more that Kierin and his buddy Ryan Kelleher tackled. Mary sat them down and said “Guys, I think you’ve got viable biz here. There is a real niche for people who need small moves done around the house and student-athletes are strong and eager to help.”
For smaller moves in-town or from one apartment complex to another and require a truck, the customer must provide their own.
Varsity Movers does not provide trucks or any off-site transport just the muscle to help you move.
Our student-run and staffed moving crew has found it cost-efficient for the client to rent a truck and transport their own belongings from point A to point B. Varsity Movers provides moving helpers to complete the full load + unload process
YOUR LOCAL SMALL MOVERS
Small Job Moving Help
At its core, Varsity Movers was created to fulfill a niche within an otherwise massive moving industry, the small move that people need assistance with on a daily basis. We do this while also providing employment to the student-athletes of the community. We like to sum it up in our tag-line that says:
“Varsity Movers tackles the jobs that are too small for moving companies, but too big for YOU!”
Next time you are looking for local small movers, call our crew of student-athletes!
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
All loose items must be packed in boxes to prevent loss or damage while moving. It is
recommended that you pack all items and leave the drawers empty.
