The Founders
Natives of Roselle, New Jersey, William Dolan and James Quigley are the founders of University Van Lines. Bill graduated from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City and Jim attended Upsala College in East Orange. As college students, they both worked for Mulligan’s Movers in Newark. In 1975, they decided to start a moving and storage company after working in different jobs.

Company Vision
Bill and Jim’s vision was to establish a company that was honest and reliable. They wanted a company that also educated the moving public on how a move should be handled. This was why they named the company University Van Lines, and created the motto “An Educated Move.” They started with one truck and all the passion and energy of two young men willing and able to succeed in business through hard work.

Safe Storage Solutions
It’s not practical to bring all your belongings with you in one go. This is especially true if you’re planning to relocate abroad. That said, we have containerized storage units in an environmentally controlled warehouse where you can store all your furniture and belongings as long as needed. The warehouse is equipped with alarms and cameras, and is fully air conditioned and heated. Rely on us to keep an eye on your possessions.

Commercial Moving
We know that moving offices can lead to a loss in productivity and potential downtime for your company. That’s why we do our best to get the job done quickly. We offer flexible schedules for commercial moving, and even offer weekend moves. Our services are available for small to large companies of up to 200 people.
