Growing up in the trucking industry, Tom Hastings started driving truck for his father Dean at the age of 16 before a commercial driver’s license was required. In 1981 after the deregulation of intermodal transportation, Tom founded TSL. With his wife Patty at his side, Tom utilized his education, his father’s mentorship, entrepreneurial spirit, and hard work to grow TSL into a full-service international logistics company that provides its customers with the best service in the industry. Managed today by Tom’s three sons David, Chris, and Patrick, TSL remains a family-owned organization benefiting from three generations of transportation experience.

WHAT WE DO
TSL provides a global supply chain solution via our network of offices. We are an integrated, value-added, full-service transportation organization that expertly facilitates shipments worldwide as an NVOCC and freight forwarder with customs brokerage and international documentation services. TSL Companies moves our customers’ shipments worldwide from origin to destination and seamlessly handles all requirements in between.

Servicing all domestic markets in North America, TSL holds contracts with all Class I railroads and operates one of the largest private intermodal fleets in the nation. Our full-service container terminals give our customers secured loaded and empty storage options throughout our entire service area. But we don’t stop there! We also provide local, regional, dedicated, and over-the-road refrigerated or dry van transportation solutions.

TSL’s fleet is comprised of 90% company-owned equipment. With an established 2 ½ year factory trade cycle, our late-model trucks ensure reliable delivery. Operating a large fleet of specialized tractors and over 2,500 privately owned chassis, we can handle the most challenging intermodal transportation requirements.
