Gerald Tobin started Tobin & Sons in 1960. Now run by the third Tobin-generation, the company’s evolution has been an exciting journey from household goods and commercial moving to our current standing among the five largest moving & storage companies in the Boston area. 2008 saw the official addition of our life science division, Tobin Scientific, which rapidly grew into the preeminent laboratory relocation and bio storage specialist in the country. INTERSTATE MOVING
As one should expect with Tobin & Sons being actively involved in large-scale moving projects for Academic Institutions, Biopharma and Corporate clients for the past 60 years, we have successfully executed thousands of interstate moves. Our tremendous wealth of experience, national partners, and status as a primary Bekins interstate moving agent mean that you can feel extremely comfortable putting your complex interstate move in our hands, whether for your organization or for your residence. Be aware that not just any moving company can execute state-to-state moves. For example, when a moving company becomes a Bekins agent, they sign an agency agreement that usually lasts from five to ten years. Upon signing the agreement, they are legally allowed to become an interstate moving company, which is necessary under federal law so that they can move people from state to state. Tobin & Sons officially became an authorized Bekins agent under these guidelines in 2002.
