Since 1985, Sunrise Express Inc., with offices and terminals in Grand Island, Nebraska and Twin Falls, Idaho has been transporting commodities both locally and internationally.

Sunrise Express Inc., provides a solid work environment for its 325+ employees in the warehouses, the service shops, and on the road. Dedication and teamwork keeps 194 trucks on the road, which include 172 company and 22 owner-operators. Sunrise has 562 air-ride. 95% of our fleet is EPA compliant and certified, the oldest units are an average of five years old. Sunrise Express provides well-maintained equipment and hires only experienced personnel who know their jobs thoroughly. Our drivers are among the best on the road today and have excellent driving records. Our equipment is kept in tip-top condition by our trained and certified technicians so that delays due to repair stops are not an issue. You can be assured that when you contract with Sunrise Express to transport your goods, they will be loaded properly and delivered intact and on time.

And because we keep our equipment in excellent running condition and hire only conscientious and experienced drivers and support personnel, Sunrise Express has built a reputable name for ourselves in the motor freight transportation industry. From our founding in 1985 with one truck to the more than 200 power units we operate today, Sunrise Express has focused on building long-lasting relationships through superior customer service.

Our first load — a haul of empty Pabst Blue Ribbon beer containers from Grand Island, NE, to Milwaukee, WI — has grown to a list of more than 500 active accounts representing 90 percent repeat business. As a dry van, over-the-road hauler, we ship everything from pet food to people food, retail goods to the latest technology, to all 48 continental states and Canada.

Sunrise Express maintains its reputation for excellent service by hiring the best drivers and emphasizing efficiency. About 88 percent of our drivers are company employees with the remaining 12 percent made up of owner-operators.

In addition to providing a compensation package that’s competitive with those offered by the largest carriers, we also offer incentives for mileage and efficiency. One of our company strategies is to create triangle routes to avoid or reduce deadhead.

Because contented drivers provide better service, we make a point of getting them home in the shortest time possible.

In addition to hiring the best drivers, we make sure our customers’ freight is transported by the best fleet possible. We continually upgrade equipment to ensure that none of our approximately 180 company-owned power units is more than a few years old.

Because we operate our own repair shops — two in Grand Island, NE, and one in Twin Falls, ID — we’re able to maintain our equipment in tip-top condition with trained and certified technicians.

The Sunrise Shop at Sunrise Express offers a full line of repair and preventive maintenance for commercial vehicles. We offer two shop locations in Grand Island, NE. Our Grand Island facilities include 3 service bays, 6 truck repair bays, and 2 truck lifts. Our Twin Falls, ID facility offers 1 service bay and 2 repair bays.
