Sterling Services, Ltd. is an independent, family-owned and operated organization that offers a complete (bulk) liquid distribution service for petroleum and chemical products. A proud Michigan-based corporation operating since 1985, Sterling works with customers in the automotive, heavy industrial, racing, aviation and related industries. Sterling exploits a niche by providing storage, toll manufacturing, transloading and transportation for companies that sell petroleum and chemical products in the Midwest. Sterling Services Ltd. is able to provide logistical cost savings to our customers by way of our strategic location: we are located on the Canadian National Railway and Interstate 75, between 696 and 94 in Hamtramck, MI.

Sterling Services Ltd. warehouses petroleum products at its for-hire bulk liquid warehousing tank terminal, which occupies five acres on the near-north side of Detroit in Hamtramck. We have 55 aboveground tanks, ranging from 4,000 to 500,000 gallons in capacity. We are served by the Canadian National (CN) railway, and handle a significant amount of volume of rail tanker cars that are loaded, unloaded or transloaded. Our company meets all regulatory requirements for handling hazardous and non-hazardous liquids.

Sterling stores, handles, blends, and throughputs various volumes of petroleum and chemical product for their clients. Sterling Services Ltd offers the ability to test, and we offer certification with an on-site ASTM certified laboratory or immediate access to a number of independent third-party testing laboratories in the area. Sterling Services has the storage and blending capacity of between 1,000 and 500,000 gallons. Sterling Services also fills and blends totes, drums and pails for customers on request.

STERLING’S DISTRIBUTION CAPABILITIES

If your answer is yes, we invite you to consider Sterling Services Ltd. as your complete distribution service. We provide inbound transportation by road tanker truck and/or rail tank car to our Detroit-area terminal. From this location, we can transload, throughput and store with inventory control. We can also blend a finished product, with testing available from our onsite laboratory. Finally, we offer delivery of your certified finished product to your customer, by both road tanker truck and rail tank car.

BULK LIQUID STORAGE & WAREHOUSING

Sterling Services, Ltd. is an independent, family-owned and -operated for-hire bulk liquid warehousing tank terminal in Metro Detroit. A proud Michigan-based corporation operating since 1985, we are members of the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA). We boast the rare capability of offering transportation by rail and load tanker truck, both to our terminal and delivering from our terminal through our sister company, Sterling Oil & Chemical, Co.

Sterling Services Ltd. occupies five acres on the near-north side of Detroit in Hamtramck. We have 59 above-ground tanks, ranging from 4,000 to 500,000 gallons in capacity. We are served by the Canadian National (CN) railway, and have easy access to all major highways. Our company meets all regulatory requirements for handling hazardous and non-hazardous liquids.

Our operations personnel have over 75 years of combined relevant industry experience in safe handling requirements of virtual all petroleum and chemical products. Terminal supervisors conduct ongoing training programs to update handing and safety procedures. Safety meeting are held at least monthly, and we stress the importance of zero incidents as an active contribution by our employees towards a safe environment for themselves, our customers and our suppliers. Storage tanks are “locked out” to ensure the integrity and safe keeping of our customers’ products. The terminal has three truck loading racks for top and bottom loading. Our terminal is available to handle your product transfers and storage when you need them, with flexible hours and staffing.
