ABOUT US
Safeway Logistics has been serving the specialized product industry since 1979. Our focus is on the commercial side of shipping, handling, and warehousing high-value products and items requiring special handling. All of our resources, from personnel to facilities and equipment are dedicated to managing the supply chain through various programs like liftgate or pad wrap FTL and Less than Load services, specialized flatbed, warehousing and inventory management, reverse logistics, break bulk or consolidation, rollouts, yard management and more value-added services.
SPECIALTY FLATBED
Safeway Logistics Specialty Flatbed is our seasoned division of professional drivers who bring decades of service in the specialized transportation industry. Our drivers operate air-ride flatbed step-decks to accommodate shipments of all lengths, widths, heights, and weights that are not conducive to standard dry van transport. Our fleet services specialized machinery, boats, electronics, MRI’s and museum-quality artwork.
We offer a full range of flatbed trailer options to meet your special transportation needs and are capable of web-based shipment tracking for Real-Time Visibility. We utilize flat-floor, single-drop step-deck, double-drop low-boy trailers and Conestoga-equipped trailers with high-quality cargo security and protection. Our flatbed trailers come with air-ride suspension, spread axles, tarps, straps, chains, and/or winches. We also offer over-sized and heavy haul transport, with reinforced decks and multiple axles to accommodate larger shipments.
SPECIAL PRODUCT TRANSPORTATION
Relocating a business is a complex event requiring meticulous planning. Whether you need to move retail fixtures, restaurant equipment, sophisticated medical or laboratory equipment, an office full of servers and computer equipment, move your warehouse to a new location, or a one-of-a-kind suite of artwork, we’ve got you covered. Every project is unique and presents special handling needs, but with Safeway Logistics’ forty years of experience executing these types of moves, you can be confident that we’ll complete the job on time and on budget.
We have a profound understanding that these moves are critical to your business and need to be planned with care and precision. Whether you require inside pickup, packing and delivery, or dock-to-dock service, we will help you successfully manage these challenges. Need only a few items moved across town? No problem. Have to move several truckloads to multiple sites in a short period of time, during off hours, or over a weekend? We can handle that, too.
We know the importance of staying on schedule, which is why we use the latest technology, including computerized shipment registration, load planning, and satellite tracking to monitor the progress of your shipment from origin to final destination. We call it real-time visibility. Let us create a custom transportation solution for you to be carried out by skilled, experienced, dependable van operators who take pride in safeguarding your shipment, including pad-wrap service, to provide your goods the best protection available.
WHITE GLOVE SERVICES
We are well-versed in direct to consumer, dock-to-dock, contractor, and job-site deliveries. Our well-trained and professionally uniformed teams coordinate and complete deliveries, and can even set up and install appliances, commercial furnishings, coolers, electronics — whatever you need. Safeway Logistics’ handles warehousing, inventory, distribution and cross-dock operations. Our complete supply chain solution includes shipping, receiving, staging, scheduling and loading. Disposal of replaced or unwanted items and removal of shipping cartons are all part of our White Glove Services.
When shipping goods, it’s always important to minimize movement. Pack crates or boxes as full
as possible, with heavier items on the bottom. If the crate is not filled, use packing material
to plug the empty spaces.
Freight service providers offer tracking services online to access a shipment’s status 24/7
from your computer or mobile device. You can track a shipment with a BOL number, but you can often
access the shipment’s location with the pro number, PO number, shipment reference number and shipment
number as well.
