Our History
Integrity, dedication, and perseverance are all pillar characteristics of Rene Transport Ltd. These inspiring characteristics have been reflected in our daily business practices for over 30 years.

Yves Rene, the most inspiring pillar of all, began as a driver for a very busy, reputable company and later became an owner operator in 1989. Not only did Yves believe in these pillars…he, walked them daily in his actions. His attitude inspired all around him, all who worked for him and the clients he served. Due to his integrity and dedication, naturally the business grew and prospered. To meet new business demands, the fleet grew to 3 highway tractors and incorporated in 1995. Thus, the name Rene Transport Ltd. was born.

In 2001, Rene Transport added a Calgary shunt operation, a turnpike operation in 2002 and expanded to a fleet of ten tractor units by 2003.

Tragically, we lost Yves Rene on July 26, 2013. Although this loss was devastating, the family knew in their hearts, Yves himself would never give up, so they were determined not to let his hard work and dreams fade with him, therefore the family and their dedicated employees soldiered on.

And the business just kept growing…

A vibrant economy marked a steady fleet increase and additional client acquisitions, sparking the opening of a new 8 acre headquarter location in Nisku AB, that incorporates 5000 square feet of office space, 9000 square feet of warehousing space and an 8000 square foot mechanic shop complete with a drive-through wash-bay.

With growth and diversification, Rene Transport now services many areas of the Transportation Industry. Currently, the fleet consists of 125+ pieces of equipment.

Edmonton Heavy Duty Towing
Rene Transport does heavy duty towing differently. Due to our previous experiences with towing companies, we understand the numerous stresses of the situation. Since 1989, Rene Transport has provided tractor service specializing in full-load, general freight deliveries across Western Canada. We are experienced in van, container and deck work, with operations in both Edmonton and Calgary.

We have a dedicated fleet of sleeper/highway units ready to service anywhere in Canada. We also have day cabs and straight trucks that service both the Edmonton and Calgary region.

Flat Deck, Tilt Deck, and Highboy Trailers
Our 53′ tri-axle flat decks, tilt deck, and highboy trailers can haul anything we can safely load including lumber, pipe, heavy equipment and more.

Intermodal (CP & CN pickup and delivery)
Our drivers are trained and experienced in CP and CN rail yard procedures. We have our own chassis available, and are able to make deliveries from rail terminal to client.

LCV/Extended Length
LCV extended length services are available in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Edmonton Warehousing, Cross-Docking and Storage
Rene Transport provides highly cost-effective logistics and storage solutions catered to your needs. Utilize our years of experience and avoid the risk and investment required to develop and staff your own facility.

Warehousing, cross-docking, and storage services are available at our secure facility south of Edmonton. Our facility is in Nisku, AB near Highway 2 and is in a secure yard with good truck access.
