At an early age, Reed worked for his father’s trucking business. Later, with one truck, he went on to start Reed Hurst Trucking. Through dedication, perseverance, and keen understanding of the trucking business, he developed Reed Hurst Trucking into the company it is today. What makes the company unique can be traced back to its inception: A personal commitment to clients along with dedicated attention to their needs. This fundamental principle matched with our capability as a trucking company separates us from the rest. We look forward to establishing a personal working relationship with you.

The Power Behind Our Operations
We own and maintain a fleet of over 75 trucks, 70% of which are less than five years old. In addition, we have the ability to quickly meet client needs during peak demand by increasing fleet size using our pool of carefully selected owner-operators. This coordination is efficiently handled through the TMW TruckMate  fleet management system. The entire fleet is Peoplenet equipped to enable continuous communications with dispatch for safety and instant tracking for efficient performance. Our fleet meets rigorous demands and standards:

We Drive For Safety
Safety starts with the commitment of our executive management team and is at the core of our corporate culture. From our drivers to our office staff and our shop floor mechanics, every aspect of the business is committed to safety. We drive for safety by incorporating leading safety technology on our trucks and training our drivers with the latest safety programs.

Q What is a bill of lading?

The bill of lading (BOL) acts as an invoicing receipt in the shipping industry, and with many
motor carriers, the BOL is the contract of carriage between that motor carrier and the shipper.
It includes important information related to the shipment such as addresses, packaging type,
freight class, description of the goods and any special instructions.

Q How do I determine freight class?

There are 18 freight classes. They are determined by weight, dimensions, density, storage capability,
ease of handling, value and liability from instances like theft, damage, breakability and spoilage.
To help you determine freight class, we’ve developed a freight density calculator.
