Family-Owned Trucking Since 1984
Rasmussen Trucking Inc. is based in Caro, Michigan, about 20 miles east of Saginaw. Our family-owned transportation operation began in 1984 by Doug Rasmussen. He was able to see the specialized need for hauling propane in Michigan and surrounding states. Starting with only one truck and trailer, over the years the company has grown to over 50 units in our fleet available today.

Our Services

Trucking
We have 3 divisions of transportation with in our portfolio. We transport propane gas in large tankers throughout the state of Michigan year round . Second, we haul asphalt and aggregate during the spring, summer and fall months within the state of Michigan. Our third division is our over the road transportation which moves reefer or dry vans throughout the United States all year long. Come join us!

Service Center
Our service center provides a wide selection of maintenance and repair work for semi-trucks of any size or model. Our motto is “Your One Stop Maintenance Shop”.

Trailer Inspection Center
Don’t wait on your annual DOT inspections!!! We employ certified hazardous material tank inspectors to complete annual or 5 year VK test or DOT inspection updates.

Q What is an NMFC number?

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) allocates a specific number to each product
that could be shipped. That is the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) that pairs to the
freight class best suited for the product. It’s important to include the NMFC number on the bill of
lading to reduce chances of reclassification.

Q How should I package my items?

When shipping goods, it’s always important to minimize movement. Pack crates or boxes as full
as possible, with heavier items on the bottom. If the crate is not filled, use packing material
to plug the empty spaces.
