A Proud History: A Boston Mover Since 1918

Rainbow Movers was founded in the Boston area in 1918 by a young James McEnaney who was returning from WWI. Mr. McEnaney fought as part of the 42^nd Infantry Division known as the “Rainbow Division” under Douglas MacArthur. As a tribute to his fellow soldiers, McEnaney named Rainbow Movers after this 42nd Infantry.

James McEnaney began Rainbow Movers with just one horse, a wagon, and a dream. Today Rainbow Movers is one of the fastest-growing moving services in the New England area, recently winning North American Moving Services “Fastest Growing Agent Award” on the East Coast. Rainbow Movers is still owned and operated by the McEnaney family and our Boston-based moving crews still operate with the same care, dedication, and duty to customer service as Mr. McEnaney did in 1918.
