Stephen Dill – Operations Manager

Stephen has been an active force in Southern Maryland’s moving and transportation industry for over 25 years. He brings his personal touch to us at Quality by insuring the company’s integrity through proper crew training and support. Stephen and his lovely wife, Jennifer, have been deeply involved in their three childrens’ sports and academic successes, as well as local community charities and events.

Carol Norris – Office Manager, Certified Moving Consultant

Carol is the bedrock of Quality! Carol’s career at Quality began in 1980, so you better believe she knows the business! Carol’s industry expertise is rarely matched and she makes sure our customers are provided theQuality service they expect and deserve. Carol lives with her husband and two cats, Siam and Salem. They enjoy travelling the East Coast together, especially to North Carolina to visit family.

Lewis Beckley – Lead Dispatcher, Certified Moving Consultant

Lewis was born in Virginia and raised in St. Mary’s County MD. He has been at Quality since 2006. Lewis is a great asset to Quality because of his industry knowledge and sincere commitment to customer service. When he’s not working, Lewis enjoys BMX biking and white water rafting, participates in community events, and dedicates himself to spending quality time with his family.

Jeff Rockenbaugh, Sales Manager, Certified Moving Consultant

Jeff has lived in Southern Maryland since 1995, when he relocated to attend St. Mary’s College of Maryland. After meeting Elizabeth, who became his wife in 2003, he happily stayed in the area. Together, the Rockenbaughs live in Calvert County where they raise their 6-year-old daughter and infant son, as well as their dog and two cats. Jeff enjoys fishing and kayaking. He has worked in the industry since 2004 and has been a Certified Moving Consultant since 2004.

Local
Our specialty! Local moves are designated as those which originate and terminate in Maryland. Price is usually based on an hourly rate determined by the number of crew necessary to complete the work. Binding rates may be available but are based on strict conditions.

Long-Distance (Interstate)
For moves originating and terminating in two different states. Price is based on a computerized tariff system, per federal regulations. Price is generally determined by shipment weight, travel distance, and any additional services provided.

Crate & Freight Moves (Interstate)

We can ship your goods to any state in the country (including AK and HI) even if we don’t drive there! Using the “crate and freight” system, we partner with highly reputable freight forwarders to coordinate transportation and delivery services.

First, your goods are wrapped and safely loaded into large wooden crates right at your home. For these “origin services” you will work directly with our company and personnel. The crates are sealed and returned to one of our facilities for processing. We then weigh each crate and find the actual net weight of your goods.

We will choose a trusted freight forwarder to coordinate the next steps in the service: transportation and delivery. We only work with freight forwarders that have a strong history of quality service with us!

Once final charges are confirmed and payment is received, a hauling company picks up your crated shipment and drives it to a delivery agent in your destination area. Your goods remain securely in the crates during transport.

The delivery agent contacts you to schedule a guaranteed delivery date. Delivery is made, with each item being placed into the room you request. Commons items requiring reassembly are serviced that same day (some exceptions may apply). The crates and debris are removed.

Q How is the cost of my shipment calculated?

If you are moving to a different state, the charges will be based on the weight of your
shipment and mileage—these are referred to as the transportation charges.
There are a variety of different moving charges that can potentially appear on your estimate,
so be sure to ask your relocation specialist to explain each charge for you.
Some additional charges that may appear include packing, crating, valuation or coverage,
bulky article charge (for oversized items), and extra labor. Again, please be certain you
fully understand these charges so that you can accurately compare the estimates you receive.

Q What is an order for service?

All movers are required to prepare an order for service before they transport your shipment.
The order for service provides you with written confirmation of the moving services that you
requested to be performed in conjunction with your shipment. It also lists the agreed upon
dates for the pickup and delivery of your shipment and amount of valuation that you requested,
along with any special services that you ordered.
It also features a place and telephone number where the mover can contact you during the move.

Additionally, the order for service shows the charges that you will be assessed for your
household move or corporate relocation. If you are moving under a non-binding estimate,
the order for service will indicate the amount of the estimated non-binding charges,
the method of payment for the charges and, in cases where the actual charges exceed the
non-binding estimate, the maximum amount that you are required to pay at the time of delivery
in order to obtain possession of your shipment (you will have 30 days following delivery to
pay the balance of the charges due). If you are moving under a binding estimate,
the order for service will show the charges that you will be required to pay at delivery,
based on the binding estimate and the terms of payment. You and your mover must sign the
order for service.
