Prive Building Movers was started, in 1965, by Edward Prive. After Ed helped to move his own home, he decided to start his own moving business – the beginnings were humble and the equipment was meager.

Moving jobs used to be within a 50-60 mile radius and now extend through the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Ed’s son, Andy, helped with moving jobs from the time he was 13 years old. After a few years away from home, Andy returned in 1988 and became a partner in the family business, eventually acquiring ownership in 2001.

Residential Projects
We offer many years of experience in moving both residential and commercial structures for our customers.

For cost-effectiveness, such as saving on power line costs, we can haul two buildings at once.
We are able to load houses c/w wood basements, attached garages, etc.
We supply temporary home and structural removal to accommodate new basements or footings.
We move character homes of all shapes and sizes.

Commercial Structures
We specialize in moving both residential and commercial structures. We have experience with moving school gyms and portables, rail cars, 50’-60’ wide shops, quonsets, annexes, etc.

Q Is it a good idea to get an estimate over the phone or via the Internet?

In all likelihood, you will find that an on-site estimate based on a physical survey
of the items that you plan on moving will be more accurate than an estimate that you
provide to your mover over the telephone or the Internet. So, unless circumstances warrant
(normally due to the time constraints of a short-notice move or because you are only shipping
a few items) think carefully before you elect to waive the required physical survey
of your shipment.

Q Will my estimate be based on the weight of my shipment?

If you are receiving a non-binding estimate, the charges that your mover assesses on your
shipment must be based on the actual weight of the shipment. Your mover may not lawfully
assess transportation charges on shipments with non-binding estimates on cubic feet, volume,
time (hourly) or on any basis other than weight. Also, the federal regulations require that
shipment weights must be determined on a state certified scale with a copy of the weigh
master’s tickets provided to you in support of the final invoice.
