The Story Behind Priority Moving
The idea of Priority Moving was conceived in 2006 with just six moving pads, a dream that the highest level of customer service and an elite skill set could change the industry. Since then, our emphasis on customer service has earned us a very dedicated customer base.
We understand that moving is a very intimate ordeal – it’s one of those big changes in life caused by a variety of reasons. When you call a moving company, you are trusting all of your property and valuables in the care of a mover. That’s why at Priority Moving, we make it easy on you by providing customer service and quality you can count on. Our movers are personable, respectful, and careful. In the rare event of damages, we take care of your claim right away so you can resume life without any worries.
Locally Owned
My name is Josh and I am the owner of Priority Moving. I originally started in the moving business at another local moving company, and I learned quickly that I loved this line of work. Every day presented a new job site and new challenges, but what was really refreshing was the daily opportunity to help people. I love meeting new customers. It’s a great feeling when you can help someone through a stressful day so they can sleep in their own bed that night. That’s the best.
Where To?
No matter where you’re moving to in the Portland metro area, Priority Moving can help you get there safely and securely.
Our workers are skilled in the art of moving so you know when they pack, transport, unpack, and store, they do it with the utmost care. The Priority Moving team is full of experts with years of experience who know how to give you the smoothest move you’ve ever had.
You’ve got enough to worry about—let us handle the heavy lifting.
Our Moving Services
Residential Moving
Moving to a new residence in the area? We can get all of your stuff there in one piece. A local move includes anything within 50-miles of our headquarters, so it doesn’t matter if you’re going to Beaverton, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, or Downtown Portland, we’ve got your back. Our trucks dispatch from our Hillsboro headquarters and they can be at your location bright and early, ready for work.
Corporate Moving
We also offer professional moving services for corporate offices that are hoping to switch locations. Growing and changing businesses often require help moving their furniture and other bulky items down the street or across the city. Our workers are skilled in disassembling, packing, moving, unpacking, and reassembling office furniture so you and your team don’t have to put down your work. Whether it’s office chairs, computers, or wall art, our movers know exactly how to handle every complicated moving concern you could throw at them. Keep your business running smoothly and we’ll take care of the rest!
Coastal Moving
While we specialize in moves within the Portland metro area, we also can help you move to and from the coast. We are the only local movers that offer affordable service to the beautiful Oregon Coast. Believe it or not, we regularly help customers move there, both temporarily and permanently. Astoria, Cannon Beach, Oceanside, and Rockaway Beach are just a few of the coastal cities that we have helped customers move to and from. Maybe you’ll be next!
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
