Established in 1991, Palumbo Trucking of Connecticut is a rapidly growing family owned and operated transportation business, dedicated to offering reliable customer service, pristine equipment and highly trained and qualified drivers. With a fleet of over 100 pieces of equipment, our tractor trailers most often transport concrete ingredients to Ready Mix & Precast locations, construction companies and other customers.

Palumbo operates its own repair shop and wash bay for its equipment at their Main Terminal in North Branford, doing repair work for both the company and general public.

We have recently added to our operation and are now currently operating two Rail facilities. Our first location in Wallingford and our most recent in New Haven to streamline delivery of fly ash, Portland cement and other dry-bulk materials to customers in Connecticut and the Northeast Region.

Our North Branford, CT Dry Bulk division provides local, regional and long haul pneumatic tank deliveries and dump trailer deliveries. You can be confident putting Palumbo Trucking in the driver’s seat. Our dry bulk trucking services and expansive network enable us to provide quick response to your day-to-day needs, demand peaks and emergencies. Palumbo Trucking drives your business forward with each and every shipment.

In efforts to accommodate our customers even further, we have added two new rail facilities; one in Wallingford and one in New Haven, offering Rail to Truck Transfers. Palumbo Trucking is the most reliable full service transloading provider in Connecticut. We are committed to providing transloading services that focus on exceeding shipper needs.

Q What is a bill of lading?

The bill of lading (BOL) acts as an invoicing receipt in the shipping industry, and with many
motor carriers, the BOL is the contract of carriage between that motor carrier and the shipper.
It includes important information related to the shipment such as addresses, packaging type,
freight class, description of the goods and any special instructions.

Q How do I determine freight class?

There are 18 freight classes. They are determined by weight, dimensions, density, storage capability,
ease of handling, value and liability from instances like theft, damage, breakability and spoilage.
To help you determine freight class, we’ve developed a freight density calculator.
