Our rigorous employee training and equipment maintenance programs ensure we are able to provide our customers with reliable and efficient service and demonstrate our commitment to the safety of everyone involved.
The focus is not only on providing a service, but to surpass the expectations of our customers while managing the unique environmental challenges that arise in our industry. The quality and performance of our equipment as well as the team operating it is always top of mind, and we wouldn’t be successful without either one.
We believe relationships are a vital component of our success, and we ensure the ones we develop are genuine and mutually beneficial.
As a leader in the oilfield logistics sector, we are committed to operating at the highest standards of safety, stewardship and stakeholder engagement at every level.
History
Founded in July 2011 by industry veteran Ric Peterson, Oculus Transport specializes in a range of services for pipe, fluid and NGL to provide an integrated transportation and storage solution for the oilfield.
In September 2011 Oculus purchased Koda Transport Ltd. in Fort St. John BC adding a pipe yard containing a 800ft rail spur that can accommodate 23 rail cars for strategic unloading and storage of product.
In October 2011 Oculus acquired KDP Contracting, which consisted of fluid transport equipment, and shortly after in November 2011 Oculus built a tank farm with 12,000m3 of storage and an invert mixing tank.
After acquiring NKC Services Ltd. & Brave Transport in June 2012 Oculus officially began offering oilfield hauling services in Grande Prairie AB. In August 2015 Oculus completed construction of a new facility in Sexsmith AB to further expand its service line. The facility boasts a 40 acre pipeyard and tank farm with direct rail spur capable of holding 55 cars.
In 2018 Oculus began offering High Vapor Pressure (HVP) hauling to the Edmonton AB region, and continues to explore strategic options to expand its business and service lines.
Fluid Hauling
Oculus is a specialist in transporting fluid.
We ensure our customer’s needs are not only met, but exceeded. Our professional, 24/7 fluid dispatchers are highly knowledgable and excel at managing the unpredictable nature of the oilfield at a moments notice. Our versatile fleet of 7 and 8 axle combinations and stainless steel trailers are highly efficient and capable of handling a variety of fluid from light sweet crude to produced water.
With over 75 acres of total storage space
Oculus Transport boasts two of the largest pipeyards in Alberta and British Columbia. Strategically positioned on rail spurs capable of holding 23 cars in Fort St. John and 53 in Grande Prairie, we handle high volumes of incoming product. Pipe is unloaded by a highly trained operator using state of the art Pettibone loaders and can then be stored in the adjacent yard, or loaded on our units capable of hauling upwards of 66,000lbs per load.
Two strategically located facilities in Alberta and British Columbia.
Our fully licensed facilities feature 1000bbl tanks in Grande Prairie and 750bbl in Fort St. John and are capable of storing a variety of drilling related fluids. Our Grande Prairie facility is located directly on the rail spur to allow for ease of transfer and provide an effective and efficient storage solution.
High Vapor Pressure Hauling
A specialized fleet for a unique product.
Oculus Transport has a specialized fleet consisting of Super B bottles and tridem bullets designed specifically for the safe transport of LPG, Propane (C3) NGL mix (C3+) and Butane (C4).
If you are receiving a non-binding estimate, the charges that your mover assesses on your
shipment must be based on the actual weight of the shipment. Your mover may not lawfully
assess transportation charges on shipments with non-binding estimates on cubic feet, volume,
time (hourly) or on any basis other than weight. Also, the federal regulations require that
shipment weights must be determined on a state certified scale with a copy of the weigh
master’s tickets provided to you in support of the final invoice.
The busiest times for moving companies are typically during the summer months, May-September.
If you are planning a move during that time you should make arrangements early.
Friday and Saturdays are big moving days so if you have flexibility in your schedule it can
be easier to get a date during the week rather than a weekend.
