We are an Edmonton based, international transportation company founded in 1955. We provide transportation services throughout Canada to our customers in the petroleum, construction, mining, and oil and gas industries.

NIC has a long tradition of supplying quality service to the Petroleum, Mining, and manufacturing industries. We are strategically located throughout Western Canada and can provide local representation to meet your logistical needs.
We have several operating divisions to service your complete transportation requirements including, Van Division, Dry & Liquid Bulk division, Oilfield Division, Deck Division, Heavy haul Division, and Project Management Division.
Northern Industrial Carriers Ltd. also has a large shared services group that provides Heath & Safety Practices, complete with all areas of Human Resources and compliance. We operate numerous state of the art maintenance facilities to ensure all our equipment meets and exceeds government standards. Our knowledgeable and experienced personnel in all our areas, Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Compliance, & Sales gives you a level of comfort that your material will be handled in a safe and professional manner, from the initial sales call, operational planning and development, to the administration process.
NIC will monitor your freight with our computerized freight management system and ensure your freight arrives on time and according to plan. Our system and people will manage your material whether it is 1 load or 10,000 loads.
No project is too small or too big; we will allocate the professional and experienced staff to co-ordinate all your moves accordingly. We have the manpower and equipment resources to handle your product. Northern Industrial Carriers Ltd. has one of the biggest fleets of equipment in Western Canada.

Northern Industrial Carriers has industrial land for lease in various locations in Edmonton and area, Calgary, Vancouver and Regina.
EQUIPMENT
Northern Industrial Carriers Ltd. is strategically set up to do large projects. We have over 250 Trucks and over 600 trailers. The large mass of rolling stock allows us to allocate a lot of equipment at any one time for any particular project.
What should I do with my jewelry and other valuable items?
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
How do I prepare my appliances for moving?
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
