Naples Moving & Storage, Inc. was founded in 1990 and is located right here in Naples, FL.
We are a locally family owned, independent relocation firm fully licensed to ship throughout Florida and the contiguous United States.
Along with our affiliation with NABOR, we are members of the Florida Movers and Warehousemen’s Association (FMWA) and the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA).
Moving your household possessions and relocation to a new home is one of the most important activities that you will undertake.
Professional movers provide a valuable service by moving thousands of people to new homes each year. While no move is ever completely stress free, when using a professional mover, all of the “heavy lifting” will be done for you.
We will pack your possessions, load them into the truck, drive the truck to your destination and unload and unpack your shipment at your new home. We can also provide you with warehouse storage.
PACKING INFORMATION
Limit cartons, when possible, to a max. weight of 50 lbs.
Wrap items carefully and provide plenty of cushioning to absorb shock.
Use sturdy cartons that close and make sure cartons are firmly packed and do not rattle, bulge outward or bend inward.
Empty drawers of breakables, item not recommended for inclusion in your shipment and anything that would puncture or damage other items, or spill. However, blankets, sweaters, bath towels and similar soft, lighweight goods may be left in drawers.
Pack similar items together. Do not pack a delicate china figure in the same carton with cast-iron frying pans, for example.
Keep all parts or pair of things together. For example, curtain rod hangers, mirror bolts and other small hardware items should be placed in plastic or cloth bags and taped or tied securely to the article to which they belong.
Wrap items individually in clean paper; use tissue paper, paper towels for fine china, crystal and delicate items.
Place crushed paper in the bottom of a carton for cushioning.
Pack heaviest items on the bottom, medium weight next and lightest on top.
Fill in empty spaces firmly with crushed paper and add more crushed paper to make a level base for the next layer.
Cushion well with crushed paper; towels and lightweight blankets also may be used for padding and cushioning.
Make sure no sharp points, edges or rims are left uncovered.
Pack small, fragile, individually wrapped items separately or a few together in small boxes, cushioning with crushed or shredded paper.
Place small boxes in a single large box, filling in spaces with crushed paper.
Avoid overloading cartons, but strive for a firm pack that will prevent items from shifting; the cover should close without force; but should not bend inward.
Seal cartons tightly with tape except for those containing items listed on the High Value Inventory form. These must be left open for the movers inspection.
Indicate your name and the room to which each carton should be delivered to at destination. Tape a sign on the door of each room at destination corresponding to the carton label so movers can get the cartons into the proper rooms quickly.
Put a special mark on cartons you want to unpack first at destination.
You have the right to receive an estimate based on a physical (in-house) survey of your
shipment. Under the regulations, your mover must base your estimate (either binding,
non-binding, or not-to-exceed), on a physical survey of the household goods to be moved if
the goods are located with a 50-mile radius of your mover’s (or his agent’s) place of business.
You may elect to waive this requirement for a physical survey, but if you elect to do so,
you must sign a written waiver of your rights.
In all likelihood, you will find that an on-site estimate based on a physical survey
of the items that you plan on moving will be more accurate than an estimate that you
provide to your mover over the telephone or the Internet. So, unless circumstances warrant
(normally due to the time constraints of a short-notice move or because you are only shipping
a few items) think carefully before you elect to waive the required physical survey
of your shipment.
