Moving In California
Moving within the state of California? As a licensed carrier (CAL-T-PUC#191760) with the California Public Utilities Commission(CPUC), we provide moving services anywhere within the state. When moving within the state, you will either have a local move or an intrastate move, depending on the distance travelled.

What Is A Local Move?
A local move is defined as any move covering 100 miles or less from point A to point B. Examples of this would be moving from San Jose to San Francisco or Fremont to Berkeley. Local moves are based on hourly rates that vary according to the needed manpower and number of vehicles involved. In the event you move more than 100 miles between residences or offices, you would have an intrastate move. Charges would be based on the distance travelled, the weight of the items shipped, and additional services such as packing. Examples of this would be moving from San Francisco to San Diego. Please feel free to contact our office if you would like further information or wish to schedule an estimate.

Worry Free Storage
If you require storage of your items before your new location will be ready, arrangements can be made to store your inventory in our secure warehouse facility. We can store goods for any length of time. When you are ready for your items, we simply continue the completion of the delivery to your new location.

Always Secure
Our warehouse is a “containerized” storage facility. This means your goods are placed into sealed wooden vaults that are fork-lifted into position in our warehouse. This type of storage provides the best security for your goods. Larger pieces that do not fit into a storage vault are placed on special racks or storage areas that are away from traffic and dust.

When storing your goods, you will be given a copy of the exact list of inventory items that have been put into storage. When you want to move out your items, you can take any part of or all of your shipment, as you are ready, by appointment. We will have your goods ready for you where you want them, and when you want them.

Q What should I do with my jewelry and other valuable items?

Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their

In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.

Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.

Q How do I prepare my appliances for moving?

Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
