Mercury Moving was founded in March of 1997, by two friends from Wayland High School. After graduating from college, Garry Hennessy and Ted Keenan brainstormed to come up with a business that would allow them to work with the public while using their business and engineering skills. In college, Garry had already started a small venture of hauling people’s trash and unwanted items. Ted saw this as an opportunity and developed a business plan and strategy to turn this trash hauling business into a cleaner transport business: a moving company. With only a truck, a trailer, and the goal of providing personal and efficient service, the two friends began a partnership that would soon become one of the fastest growing moving companies in Massachusetts.
Mercury’s journey of becoming a respected and trusted moving resource began the day Ted and Garry’s first truck rolled onto the road in 1997. Today, Mercury operates successfully because of the foundation these two friends built.
