Lotter Farms is a family-owned trucking company in Berne, Indiana, that transports agricultural commodities, heavy equipment, and livestock. We offer both regularly scheduled, or as-needed, pick-ups and deliveries for your farm or business. We have a rail transfer station in Craigville, Indiana, which enables us to handle transloading logistics in both directions, rail to truck or truck to rail.
Our variety of trailers gives you a variety of transportation solutions for your products. We offer local transportation services in Northeast Indiana was well as inter-state transportation of your commodities and livestock in and out of Indiana.
How can I avoid adjustments?
Adjustments can be costly, but can mostly be avoided with accurate information.
Common adjustments occur around oversized items (more than 12 feet in length), lift-gates,
limited delivery access, residential fees, reclassifications and changes to the bill of lading.
What is a bill of lading?
The bill of lading (BOL) acts as an invoicing receipt in the shipping industry, and with many
motor carriers, the BOL is the contract of carriage between that motor carrier and the shipper.
It includes important information related to the shipment such as addresses, packaging type,
freight class, description of the goods and any special instructions.
