With more than 70 years in business, Summers Trucking is recognized as the premier oversize precast hauler in the Northeast. In addition to hauling oversize precast, Summers provides expertise in hauling modular buildings, custom façade systems, prefab steel, machinery, and specialty loads for NASA. The company’s specialty is parking garages, but our experience and wide range of trailer inventory provide the capability to haul any commodity requiring a special touch.
The employee-owned company has grown to include 70-plus company tractors and more than 400 specialty trailers. Summers Trucking continues to increase our fleet and hauling capabilities, and welcomes the opportunity to serve your truck transportation needs.
How We Do It
Our goal is to provide a world-class customer experience from start to finish. The only way we can do this is to have quality employees at every part of the process, and rely on them to communicate with each other and with the customer. We believe that we have the best team in the industry, and we couldn’t be more proud!
Equipment
We take a lot of pride in our equipment, and have 70+ tractors and 400+ flatbed and specialty trailers. We have all late model trucks with the latest in emissions technologies to reduce our carbon footprint. All of our trucks are tracked by GPS so we know where your product is all the time.
Our outstanding preventative maintenance program teamed with our excellent wash program make our trucks and trailers the safest, cleanest pieces of equipment going down the road. Having nice, new, clean equipment also means less down time and less breakdown time during transport. Being on time is one of most important parts of what we do.
The biggest difference that sets us apart from other flatbed haulers is our huge selection of flatbed and specialty trailers. Having 400+ trailers helps Summers Trucking take care of customers’ needs on high volume jobs as well as single load jobs.
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
