Ken Graham Trucking, Inc. is a family owned and operated trucking company founded upon four generations of service and experience in the trucking industry.

It began in 1952 when Noble Graham started hauling pulpwood out of Rudyard,MI. In 1966, his was the first trucking company to be granted an extra provincial operating license by the Canadian Government Provincial Transport Board. On November 29, 1966, he hauled his first load of steel from Algoma Steel in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

Over time, Noble’s 4 sons joined him in the family business. Ken and his brother, Charles operated out of Brimley, MI after serving with the Michigan National Guard in Korea. Brothers Donald and Peter operated out of Spalding, MI and Munising, MI.

In 1995, Kenneth E. Graham branched out on his own, and following family tradition, his sons and daughters joined the family business as well!

DISPATCH
Our Dispatch Department is here to help you figure out the best, most economical, way to get your load delivered. They are knowledgeable of permits and required certs for over-size loads, ensuring that your load is deliverable and will not be delayed by red tape.

GARAGE
Our mechanics in the garage are responsible for keeping our trucks on the road. They are experts at repair and maintenance of the diesel engine, and equipment. With their help we are able to maintain a safe, reliable fleet of trucks, trailers, and other equipment. Their hard work and diligence makes sure that brakes and tires are not worn, the engine is well maintained and all systems are go on our trucks and trailers.

Of course, we aren’t claiming we never break down, sometimes life throws a curve ball, but when we do, our mechanics are there to make the needed repairs and evaluate the safety of the vehicle to be on the road afterwards.

Q What’s the difference between less than truckload and full truckload?

Less than truckload (LTL) shipping allows multiple shippers to share space on the same
truck while full truckload shipments typically travel on only one truck with one destination.

Q What is an NMFC number?

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) allocates a specific number to each product
that could be shipped. That is the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) that pairs to the
freight class best suited for the product. It’s important to include the NMFC number on the bill of
lading to reduce chances of reclassification.
