Our concepts comprise all necessary operational aspects that begin with the sender’s pre-carriage, up through the port, ending with on-carriage to the final destination. The availability of multiple container depots and several ocean carriers gives Jerich the possibility to offer low rates and high volume capacities to our customers. As a result of strategically located distribution centers with direct connection to the ocean ports, Jerichs’ Ocean-Logistics solutions enable the customer to optimize their pre-and-on-carriages, effectively reducing transportation costs.
Will my estimate be based on the weight of my shipment?
If you are receiving a non-binding estimate, the charges that your mover assesses on your
shipment must be based on the actual weight of the shipment. Your mover may not lawfully
assess transportation charges on shipments with non-binding estimates on cubic feet, volume,
time (hourly) or on any basis other than weight. Also, the federal regulations require that
shipment weights must be determined on a state certified scale with a copy of the weigh
master’s tickets provided to you in support of the final invoice.
Do I need to be home during the move?
On the day of the move you need to be present. There is paperwork to sign and you need to
show the movers exactly what is being moved. After the movers have loaded the truck you will
be ask to do a walk through. That is the time to point out anything that may have been missed
once the truck drives away they are done.
At the unload they will place boxes in rooms based on the rooms written on the boxes
(ie., bedroom, kitchen, garage). Furniture will be placed in the location you specify.
It is helpful if you already have a basic idea where you want furniture placed.
If the movers have to keep rearranging and switching furniture around it will take longer
and you are paying hourly.
