We’ve been in business for over 20 years and continue to keep growing. Our facility is monitored by video surveillance and also has an electronic gate that only allows entrance with a personalized gate code. Each unit has their own lock, which we are happy to sell to you here.
At James Street Self Storage our leases are month to month by the 1st of every month. There is no deposit, only a one time $15.00 administrative fee at start-up. All of our units have roll-up doors and are easily accessible by driving right up to the door. Our aisle ways are wide enough for large trucks to fit through and also leave adequate room for backing up trailers or boats.
Our smallest unit is a 5×5 which is perfect for extra items, twin-size mattress, seasonal items, clothing, books, bicycles, record/file storage, business merchandise, boxes. We also have a 10×10 which is great for two bedrooms, king-size mattress, major appliances, furniture, clothing, boxes, business merchandise and more. Our medium size unit is a 10×20, the size of a 1-stall garage, can be used for storing four bedrooms, king-size mattress, major appliances, furniture, clothing, boxes and business merchandise. Our largest unit is a 15×50, bigger than a 2-stall garage, and mostly used for boat or RV storage. Local (intrastate) moves are generally based on a per-hour cost for the personnel and
the number of vehicles that the mover provides (up to a certain distance, with longer
distances based on the weight of your shipment and the mileage it is transported) and the
level of liability that the mover will cover in the event of loss or damage is generally
less than would apply for an interstate move.
Once you have compiled a list of movers, inform them of the destination and timing of your
move. Ask them about the types of services they offer. Also ask them to explain their
estimates in detail and to give you a copy. If any company refuses to give you a written
estimate, you should eliminate them from consideration. Then carefully compare to see which
mover best suits your needs and budget.
The cost of your move will be based on the actual weight of your belongings and the distance
they are shipped, plus the amount of packing and other services that you require.
To help you anticipate the cost of your move, movers will give you an estimate of the price.
Be sure to get written estimates from at least 3 different movers so that you can compare
their services and prices.
