We have been in the moving business for roughly 25 years. I have worked for 2 of the larger companies in the Boston area for extended periods of time. Any situation you could possibly have we have most likely already navigated it hundreds of times before. Again, I could bore you with pages of details but I know your time is valuable so here’s what you need to know:
I have a network of workers that I have met throughout the years and I’ve done my absolute best to only work with people that are hard-working, honest, and have great attitudes that I would be proud to have to wear my company name on their backs. The guys who I bring out with me are the best of the best as far as I’m concerned. I don’t put my name on many people, but I vouch for my guys. I would honestly rather not book a job than bring people out into the field that aren’t able to wow our customers. You can learn about our team here. We operate with integrity and honesty and I unapologetically expect anyone out working with me to conduct himself with the highest standards at all times.
I don’t expect you to just take my word for that. Please read our stellar reviews. You most likely found us because one of your friends recommended us to you. I can confidently say we will make your project as easy and enjoyable as possible. And I will put our work ethic and attitude up against anyone. In short, we try to operate the way I would want a company I hired to operate if it were MY money being spent. I ask a lot of myself and my guys because we make good money doing this and you deserve our absolute best for your money.
We currently have one 16 foot box truck with a “Mom’s Attic” to provide additional room. We rent larger trucks when the need arises. We have invested a great deal in our equipment as it allows us to be as efficient as possible for you.
People often ask us if we “do that.” The most likely answer is “YES”.
We are a full service moving company. This means we do small or full-size residential and commercial moves, as well as specialty moves like hoists and pianos.
But we also do so much more than that. We do a tremendous amount of assembly/disassembly jobs, tv and artwork mounting, packing and unpacking, trash disposal, hanging curtains, installing blinds, air conditioner install, small home repairs, etc. About five months ago I got called in for a dead raccoon removal. True story. So at this point in my career, I can confidently say there isn’t much I haven’t seen or done.
PACKING AND UNPACKING
Husky Moving can perform the service at the request of the shipper at the normal hourly labor charge. Any packing or unpacking expected to be done by Husky Moving must be discussed ahead of time. Crating and/or packing supplies will be determined, verified and signed off on by customer and added to the bill. Prices for our packing supplies can be found in our Online Store.
ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY
We love doing assembly work and consider ourselves to be very skilled at it. Husky Moving will charge our normal hourly rate for all disassembly or assembly of items.
DISPOSAL
Husky Moving can dispose of items. For a few pieces we will quote you a price on the spot which will be added to the bill on top of all other normal hourly and truck charges. For larger jobs, we take items to the Winchester Transfer Station. The customer is responsible for the normal hourly time to remove items from their location as well as time to go to and from the transfer station, which is located in Winchester, MA, as well as the cost of a commercial day permit ($50) and the final dump fee which is based on weight. A full list of rules and prices that will be added to your bill can be found from the Winchester Transfer Station. Note: We can not dispose of paint or chemicals
HANDYMAN
We do a lot of light handyman-type services, like hanging window treatments, hanging artwork, mounting TV’s and artwork, hanging shelves, etc.
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
All loose items must be packed in boxes to prevent loss or damage while moving. It is
recommended that you pack all items and leave the drawers empty.
