HD Snow & Son House Moving, Inc

The passion for the house moving industry began with my dad, C. A. Snow, in 1942 in Weatherford, Texas. His equipment to load and unload buildings consisted of step jacks until 1943 when he graduated to a winch truck. His first rig was two beams welded solid which made a frame to move houses on. Then in 1948 the family business was moved to downtown Fort Worth, Texas.

At the ripe old age of 12 years old I knew I wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps in the family business. For my first moving job (at the age of 12) I moved two outhouses and hand dug the new holes. Throughout school I worked weekends and summers, just waiting for the day that I could go full time.

In 1953, after graduating high school, my dream came true as I became foreman of C.A. Snow House Moving. Two weeks after my dad passed away in 1966 at the age of 52 years and 6 months old, I made a decision to start my own business, H. D. Snow House Moving, Inc. I immediately started traveling across the United States and exchanged moving techniques with other movers. The knowledge I gained through my travels prompted new ideas.

Residential Services

As you look at the pictures of homes, in the photo gallery, we have moved in the past you will see a structure. When we look at it we see someone’s home. A place where a family is going to live and make memories or a place where a family has been living and the memories are already there. We handle and treat your home as if it were our own from the beginning of the move until we remove the last of the moving equipment. Through the years we have moved many homes where several generations of a family have grown up. That makes us a part of preserving history of the utmost importance, that of family. It is our desire to work with you and make the moving of your home another chapter of good memories.

Commercial Services

Pictures in the photo gallery will show our portfolio in the commercial division is quite varied. From offices, apartment buildings, tanks, shop buildings, churches, airport terminal buildings and even dollhouses. No matter the job we give it our undivided attention as this is part of the work force that keeps the economy of this great nation going. From the beginning of the job to the end we try to make the job go quickly without loosing sight of safety. Our priority is to get your business back up and going as quickly as possible with minimal down days.

Industrial Services

Well, we can show you because we moved one. When you look under Industrial in the photo gallery you will see the oven. Now you know. Our part of moving in the Industrial area has been quite interesting. We have been called in to move everything from signs, lifting up beer vats for repair and maintenance work to lifting the container that jet engines are tested in out of the ground.
