Greenway Moving & Delivery
Greenway Moving & Delivery was founded in January 2001. We can’t contain our excitement about its approaching 20th anniversary in January 2021!
After having owned and operated a successful business in Germany, Roland and Petra Klotz came to the US and bought Greenway Moving & Delivery in July 2011. By this time, Greenway Moving & Delivery had already established a great reputation as the senior moving company of Seattle.
Roland was responsible for the trucks and cars. From 2012 to 2017, he was the driver for the company. He was also responsible for ordering the necessary supplies, such as boxes, paper, tape, etc. He supported his wife, Petra, with other duties involved in self-employment. Petra’s duties have been office work, customer service, and bookkeeping.
Roland suffered a heart attack in 2004, became ill in 2017, and had to step back from being the company driver. He never fully regained his strength. In late summer 2018, things took a turn for the worse. His heart became weaker and he spent the last two months of his life in the hospital. Shortly before Christmas 2018, he passed away. He is deeply missed by Petra and the movers. He will be kept in good memory.
Petra has now been leading the business since 2019. She and the movers are keeping Greenway Moving & Delivery running smoothly in honor of Roland

Moving boxes that are high quality and well designed can be an invaluable asset to any relocation project.
What should I do with my jewelry and other valuable items?
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
How do I prepare my appliances for moving?
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
