COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Five Star supports the local community through donation and sponsorship. Previous sponsorship includes the U.S. Vets, The First Tee, Easter Seals and Family Promise.
Trucking is at the heart of Five Star. It’s where we began over 15 years ago and our wide range of trucking capacities are essential to meeting our diverse clients’ needs.
CROSS DOCKING
We service air and ocean freight forwarders. We can receive freight at our facility or the port, cross dock onto the delivery vehicle or transfer it to another island.
WHITE GLOVE SERVICES
We handle deliveries that require placing the item(s) inside a commercial property or home, including unboxing, debris removal and assembly.
HEAVY HAULING
We have the capacity for heavy hauling. Our triple axel 650 hp rig makes hauling 50,000 lbs up the Pali look like a breeze.
DDU DELIVERY
We have the network to serve high volume shippers that require DDU delivery.
RESIDENTIAL/HOME DELIVERY
This service includes delivering mail, packages and eCommerce shipments to residential locations throughout Hawaii.
EDI CAPABILITIES
We have the capability to receive and trade EDI data for track and trace systems, to push notifications, POD data and more.

We have the capability to receive and trade EDI data for status reports, track and tracing, cycle counts and other communications.
Do I need LTL or full truckload?
Great question and something our team of experts can help you determine. LTL is typically ideal for
freight shipments larger than parcel or small package, but short of the space required of a
full truckload shipments. However, other factors like distance and value may play into the decision.
What are the differences between FTL Services and LTL Services?
FTL stands for Full Truckload. A shipment that is over 10,000lb or takes up an entire truck by
itself is considered Full Truckload. One of the main characteristic of an FTL Services is that it
will take your shipment on a long haul, making one trip from point A to Point B without transferring
the cargo.
LTL stands for Less Than Truckload. If you have 200 pounds of freight to transport, you’ve got an LTL
shipment. It takes just a section of the truck and the cargo is safely consolidated with other shipments
that may be picked up and distributed in the same area.
