At Father and Son Moving & Storage, we understand the stresses of relocating. Our mission is to ease those stresses as much as possible with our affordable services and experienced team. Whether you’re staying local and need one of the best moving companies in Providence, RI to move to the next town over or you’re moving to the opposite coast, we can help make the experience simple for your family.
As a family-owned business, we know that a change as major as moving will affect your children, spouse, and pets. Our services can help make the process easier for you in the following ways:
Moving and Packing: No matter the distance you’re traveling, our team will use their years of experience to carefully and efficiently pack up your belongings. We then safely transport them to your new destination, allowing you to focus on getting your family members to your new home.
Piano Moving: One of the trickiest items to move in a home is the piano. Rather than you struggling to get it into a new home, allow our team to use their tools and knowledge to safely relocate it.
Storage: Unexpected challenges often pop up during a move, including not being able to move in to your new location as soon as you thought. We offer a solution with our state-of-the-art storage facilities, where you can keep your belongings until your destination is ready.
Commercial Services: We also offer services for non-residential moves. Our team can help you with office relocation and local or long-distance commercial moving, packing, and storage.
With affordable options for every step of the process, Father and Son Moving & Storage is your one-stop shop for relocation services.
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
