Eco Movers was born out of a desire to change old, harmful moving practices with a fresh environmentally-friendly approach. We’ve grown into Seattle’s premier sustainable moving company, and Google’s No. 1 mover in Washington state. Our thousands of pleased clients tell the story best, as a quarter of our business comes from return customers.
Eco Movers opened its current headquarters in Queen Anne in 2016, including our first storage facility. The fleet of trucks grew, adding new certified clean-idle vehicles. The warehouse allows us to ramp up our earth-friendly practices. We offer reusable wardrobe boxes in all our trucks for your convenience and have thousands of reusable moving boxes to reduce cardboard use.
Eco Movers began dispatching trucks at north and south satellite locations in summer 2018, and merged with The Big Guys Home Delivery in January 2019, expanding to a second brick-and-mortar location in Woodinville to serve Seattle’s Eastside.
Our Mission
Customer-focused, earth-friendly since 2009
Eco Movers is committed to providing excellence in customer service while maintaining a sustainable relationship with our environment and supportive partnership with the communities we serve. We accomplish our mission by recycling where we can, but also taking steps to be proactive in protecting the earth. We make green moving practices accessible and affordable and work with our partners to make a real-world impact on the planet.
Storage Services
Eco Movers operates a 22,000 square-foot storage facility, conveniently located in North Queen Anne — just 10 minutes from both downtown Seattle and South Lake Union. Our storage warehouse is climate-controlled, with 24-hour video surveillance and a fully monitored alarm system. When storing with Eco Movers, you can rest assured your possessions are secure and protected at all times.
Private Storage
Unlike personal storage, Eco Movers offers private storage for short- and long-term storage needs. We place your belongings in storage for you, door-to-door service! Just call us when you are ready for your items to be delivered, and we will schedule a move-in day.
Eco Movers has a large and versatile fleet of vehicles, everything from cargo vans and 14-foot trucks to our large 26-foot moving trucks, meaning we can serve all types of customers — from a small studio apartment to expansive single-family homes.
For all local moves, there’s no extra charge for stairs, elevators, distance to the truck, additional items or any other physical factors. We charge only for time*, not the physical complexity of your moving environment.
Our crews are fully-equipped with hand trucks, at least 50 top-quality professional moving pads, two furniture dollies, shrink wrap, moving straps and a full tool kit for easy assembly and disassembly of beds and other furniture.
If it’s further than 55 miles from your current home to your new one, Washington State has different rules on how moving companies are regulated. We do offer long-distance intrastate moves (think Olympia, Bellingham, Spokane, etc.) in addition to the long-distance interstate moves. Visit our section on long-distance moves or call us for details.
Commercial Moving Services
Moving a business can be a daunting experience, which is why the company you choose to relocate your organization is a big decision. Eco Movers has a decade of experience moving offices, restaurants, hotels and other businesses — and we have a long list of happy business clients! We offer packing, furniture assembly and disassembly, cubicle installations or breakdown, reusable container rentals and after-hours service. All items and fixtures are systematically labeled to ensure they are placed properly.
If you are moving to a different state, the charges will be based on the weight of your
shipment and mileage—these are referred to as the transportation charges.
There are a variety of different moving charges that can potentially appear on your estimate,
so be sure to ask your relocation specialist to explain each charge for you.
Some additional charges that may appear include packing, crating, valuation or coverage,
bulky article charge (for oversized items), and extra labor. Again, please be certain you
fully understand these charges so that you can accurately compare the estimates you receive.
All movers are required to prepare an order for service before they transport your shipment.
The order for service provides you with written confirmation of the moving services that you
requested to be performed in conjunction with your shipment. It also lists the agreed upon
dates for the pickup and delivery of your shipment and amount of valuation that you requested,
along with any special services that you ordered.
It also features a place and telephone number where the mover can contact you during the move.
Additionally, the order for service shows the charges that you will be assessed for your
household move or corporate relocation. If you are moving under a non-binding estimate,
the order for service will indicate the amount of the estimated non-binding charges,
the method of payment for the charges and, in cases where the actual charges exceed the
non-binding estimate, the maximum amount that you are required to pay at the time of delivery
in order to obtain possession of your shipment (you will have 30 days following delivery to
pay the balance of the charges due). If you are moving under a binding estimate,
the order for service will show the charges that you will be required to pay at delivery,
based on the binding estimate and the terms of payment. You and your mover must sign the
order for service.
