Our Mission
DSD Trucking requires a specific set of industry-related certifications in order to effectively handle our customer’s worldwide freight and transportation needs. Creating an unbroken allegiance of trust, honesty and integrity in our ability to effectively provide flexible yet cost competitive rates, coupled with exemplary levels of customer service, is what sets DSD apart.
DSD Trucking was formally incorporated on March 3, 1986 in the state of California. The initial business model was primarily modeled on providing services for the ever-increasing demands of a wide variety of transportation services required to support the highly-specialized garment industry, located in the Fashion District in downtown Los Angeles, where it continues to thrive today. As the need for additional trucking services grew, so did DSD. It expanded its presence in the pick-up and delivery services throughout the greater Los Angeles areas.
Air Freight
With over 150k square feet of warehouse space DSD offers a wide variety of services for our customers requiring both bonded and non-bonded freight. The warehouse is located in Redondo Beach, CA, less than four miles from LAX. Combined, over 75 million kilos of air cargo pass through this location anually. Our customer base includes numerous small to mid-size freight forwarding companies, however, we are also capable, and do perform CFS air freight shipping for some of the largest, dominant freight forwarders in the world, such as expeditors: FedEx FTN, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, DHL Global Forwarding, Damco, JAS and SDV.Throughout the course of the year, we are asked to handle large “full-plane” charters for many of our larger freight forwarding companies. We recover all the air cargo from the airport, break it down, sort and segregate based on the customer’s directive, we then personally deliver all the freight to our customer’s distribution centers (warehouses) within Southern California. We utilize a wide array of equipment when making recoveries, including tractors with flatbed trailers, enclosed roller-bed trailers, straight trucks, and utilize our specialized roller-bed trucks, specialized roller-bed flatbed trailers. We also offer extra heavy, oversize moves and transportation moves that requires escorting services. In order to service our global customers, it requires us to run a fully staffed and secure, 24/7 operations, including 24/7 security guard service at all times, providing the means to make our customers’ freight management top priority.
Warehousing
DSD has 150k square feet of warehouse enabling us to offer a wide variety of services for our customers requiring both bonded and non-bonded freight. Located 2411 Santa Fe Ave in Redondo Beach, it is conviently situated within four miles of LAX. Over 75 million kilos of air freight pass through our warehouse annually. Our customer base includes numerous small to mid-size freight forwarding companies; however, we also perform CFS air freight services for some of the largest, dominant freight forwarders in the world, such as: Expeditors, FedEx FTN, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, DHL Global Forwarding, Damco, JAS and SDV.

How is the cost of my shipment calculated?
If you are moving to a different state, the charges will be based on the weight of your
shipment and mileage—these are referred to as the transportation charges.
There are a variety of different moving charges that can potentially appear on your estimate,
so be sure to ask your relocation specialist to explain each charge for you.
Some additional charges that may appear include packing, crating, valuation or coverage,
bulky article charge (for oversized items), and extra labor. Again, please be certain you
fully understand these charges so that you can accurately compare the estimates you receive.
