Established in 1990, Downey Trucking, Inc is a family-focused carrier. Our founder, Leland Downey, believed in hard work, dedication, and honesty. His 33 years of over-the-road experience taught us how to do the job right. Read our story below.
Trucking Services Made Easy
Downey Trucking, Inc. provides transportation services with our fleet of conventional tractors and 53 ft. air ride vans. We also offer our brokerage services for those times when you need a truck at the last minute.
We screen our carriers to ensure that they can provide the services you need with confidence when we can’t provide our own equipment.
What’s the difference between less than truckload and full truckload?
Less than truckload (LTL) shipping allows multiple shippers to share space on the same
truck while full truckload shipments typically travel on only one truck with one destination.
What is an NMFC number?
The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) allocates a specific number to each product
that could be shipped. That is the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) that pairs to the
freight class best suited for the product. It’s important to include the NMFC number on the bill of
lading to reduce chances of reclassification.
