Established in 1930, D. J. Powers is one of Georgia’s first freight forwarders and customs brokerage firms, as well as being one of the fastest growing logistics companies in the state. Headquartered in Savannah, Georgia we operate eight U.S. offices, four overseas offices in Rotterdam, Ningbo, Shanghai and Shenzhen, along with having a network of over 175 affiliated offices worldwide.
Our company’s strength, and value to our customers, is based on our commitment and dedication to our employees. DJP’s corporate philosophy includes “account ownership” by our employees at the shipment execution level. We encourage employees’ continuing education and training, and support them with world-class systems and experienced corporate officers. We have dedicated employees, and their dedication translates into knowledgeable and experienced handling of your shipments at every level. It is at this level, the daily execution of each and every shipment, where the success of your global logistics program will be determined.
We contribute to the success of our customers by gaining efficiencies through “continuous improvements” in the logistic process. This is in contrast to the large, bureaucratic organizations that profit through billing opportunities created by inefficiencies in customers’ “scope of work” definitions. D. J. Powers will become your strategic partner by continuously improving the logistics process on your behalf.

FTL stands for Full Truckload. A shipment that is over 10,000lb or takes up an entire truck by
itself is considered Full Truckload. One of the main characteristic of an FTL Services is that it
will take your shipment on a long haul, making one trip from point A to Point B without transferring
the cargo.
LTL stands for Less Than Truckload. If you have 200 pounds of freight to transport, you’ve got an LTL
shipment. It takes just a section of the truck and the cargo is safely consolidated with other shipments
that may be picked up and distributed in the same area.
Adjustments can be costly, but can mostly be avoided with accurate information.
Common adjustments occur around oversized items (more than 12 feet in length), lift-gates,
limited delivery access, residential fees, reclassifications and changes to the bill of lading.
