OUR HISTORY
As you can see from the following letter, we’re proud of our family and our business.

Dear Valued Customer,

J.H. Craig started a commodities hauling business in 1918, hauling cattle, feed and hay from the rural farms of Virginia to the urban markets of the DC area.

In the 1940s, the area started evolving from farmland to residential communities. We had to change with the times, so we began moving people into their homes after hours and in our spare time. My father, Dick and his brothers: Earl, Jim and Bob decided to go full time.

In the 1980s, my son and I took over the business. I brought with me the pride to do a good job at a reasonable price. We expanded our local moving business to the reaches of Maine and Florida and as far west as the Mississippi river.

As the millennium unfolds, I’ve turned the reins over to my son, Fred C. Craig III knowing that he will provide the same quality service that our family has given this community for over 80 years.

Craig Van Lines provides a comprehensive range of packing, unpacking and storage services. The Craig family has been providing moving services in Virginia, Maryland, and all of Metro Washington DC for over 80 years; we have the experience for those who need a complete moving solution.

Packaging Solutions
Our highly trained professional packers will do as little or as much packing and unpacking that you require. Our pro packers know how to use time-proven techniques to safeguard your valuable possessions.

You want it all? We provide full packing and unpacking service for those who choose to have the whole house emptied and then the new home, apartment, or office furnished on your behalf.

You want some? Our partial packing service allows our pro movers to take on part of the job like a room in the house, a full garage or attic; you name it.

Feeling delicate? If you only require help in packing fragile items like china, glass stemware, or your fine collectibles, you might choose our packing experts to take good care of your delicate belongings. We also offer a crating service to better protect your larger and more delicate items.

Feeling independent?It takes more time, but you can DIY it to save money. Simply utilize our packing supplies, moving boxes, crates, tape, pads, etc. Call us for more info.

Unpacking it all for you! Many select our unpacking help when they have had enough with a long and arduous move and simply need a break. We will expedite your getting settled into your new home or business.

If you are in need of storage solutions, we are the answer. We have secure, temperature-controlled facilities where your belongings are kept safe-guarded until you say so. Need even more space?
