We’ve been serving your friends and neighbors since 2008—a decade of new, ongoing, repeat, and satisfied customers. We pride ourselves on making our property the best it can be and being available whenever you need us. We can do that because we’re locally owned and operated.
Storage
Store the items you will access most often near the front of the unit.
Arrange items with “line of sight” in mind. Once everything is in, take a couple of photos from different angles to jog your memory of where things are.
Larger items work well up against walls on the sides and in the back. They’re less likely to fall over and to hide other, smaller items.
Yes, you can pile things on top of each other, but be careful to put heavier items on the bottom and to balance your stacks and position them with support all around so they won’t topple over.
It’s important to be sure the bottom items can support the ones on top without being damaged themselves. Sometimes, it’s best to pack foundation items in sturdy containers, not just boxes.
Try not to stack items higher than you can reach without a stool or ladder. Pro Tip: If you think you might need a ladder or stool very often, just buy one and leave it in your unit. That’s one less thing to worry about in your busy life and to avoid teeth-grinding frustration.
You can, of course, “cram everything in,” but if you do, be sure to leave yourself room to maneuver easily.
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
Local (intrastate) moves are generally based on a per-hour cost for the personnel and
the number of vehicles that the mover provides (up to a certain distance, with longer
distances based on the weight of your shipment and the mileage it is transported) and the
level of liability that the mover will cover in the event of loss or damage is generally
less than would apply for an interstate move.
