I’m Patricia Larin, owner of Caring Transitions of South Brampton. My team and I work in South Brampton, Caledon, and the surrounding areas (in the GTA). We are here to help you through life’s tough transitions, providing comprehensive solutions for relocation, including downsizing, decluttering, and full and partial liquidations.
Prior to opening Caring Transitions of South Brampton, I worked in the airline industry for 20 years. For the last eight years, I worked in a management role that involved coordinating the daily activities and administration for pilots, pilots in training, and process improvements, which led to efficiencies and increased control throughout the department. When the pandemic gave me the opportunity to change careers after 20 years, I sat down and started thinking about what I wanted to do. I realized I wanted to use my experience in leadership and logistics to make a difference for people in my community.
I went through a difficult relocation with my mom, so when I learned about the services Caring Transitions provides and the company’s unique focus on seniors, I realized I’d found something I’d love and my community could really use. We bet you haven’t done a deep clean in your basement, attic, or garage lately. No worries, we accumulate “stuff.”

When is the best time to move?
The busiest times for moving companies are typically during the summer months, May-September.
If you are planning a move during that time you should make arrangements early.
Friday and Saturdays are big moving days so if you have flexibility in your schedule it can
be easier to get a date during the week rather than a weekend.
Do I need to be home during the move?
On the day of the move you need to be present. There is paperwork to sign and you need to
show the movers exactly what is being moved. After the movers have loaded the truck you will
be ask to do a walk through. That is the time to point out anything that may have been missed
once the truck drives away they are done.
At the unload they will place boxes in rooms based on the rooms written on the boxes
(ie., bedroom, kitchen, garage). Furniture will be placed in the location you specify.
It is helpful if you already have a basic idea where you want furniture placed.
If the movers have to keep rearranging and switching furniture around it will take longer
and you are paying hourly.
