There are many excellent third-party logistics (3PL) providers in the industry, including those specializing in handling temperature-sensitive products such as fresh, perishable food. However, there is no margin for error in this space. Mistakes, delays, and lack of focus can result in food waste, diminished shelf life, or more significantly, failed food safety regulations and potentially endangering consumers. Therefore, competency is critical when it comes to cold chain management. However, that’s only the starting point.

What makes Burris Logistics the provider of choice for so many manufacturers, national retail stores, and direct-to-consumer/e-commerce brands?

Precise temperature-controlled warehousing is vital to our variety of partners. We know different products require different environments, which is why our facilities are designed to provide custom temperatures and humidities, depending on your unique need.

We design our racks to be convertible and many of our systems convert to accommodate your needs.

Our warehouses and distribution centers are in strategic locations near major transportation hubs and ports for both over-the-road freight as well as parcel shipping. Our warehouses are agile for both post-production product storage as well as direct-to-consumer fulfillment. We have created a host of services with you, our partner, in mind — always offering scalable solutions to meet developing needs. IT teams help you monitor your product. Access to freight brokerage nets you the best freight price for inbound and outbound loads when needed.

Dry and Ambient Storage still relies on expert handling by a company with over 96-years of experience. The flexibility to support our partners across all temperature ranges is crucial when there are specific handling and storage needs.

Ambient and dry can represent products of all kinds to include, food, machinery, supplements, paper, automotive parts, and chemicals. Having ambient/dry capability also allows storage of materials used to support e-commerce/direct-to-consumer fulfillment programs that require parcel shipping boxes, tape, collateral, and more.

Custom distribution starts with you, your customers, and the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities you face. We collaborate with you and focus on creating the best possible warehousing and distribution solutions, providing all the benefits of self-distribution — with none of the headaches.

No two custom solutions are identical, so we start with an innovative, collaborative, and transparent approach to creating the very best client-specific supply chain solution. This allows the operator to gain full control over the procurement process, including product selection without limits, greater private label opportunities, deal negotiation, and vendor relations.

As a Burris Logistics customer, you are a true partner, allowing you to define the specific services you need. Our goal is long-term partnerships that lasts. When self-distribution is too daunting of a task, yet you need a friendly partner that honors your businesses’ need, partner with Burris Logistics.

Q Will my estimate be based on the weight of my shipment?

If you are receiving a non-binding estimate, the charges that your mover assesses on your
shipment must be based on the actual weight of the shipment. Your mover may not lawfully
assess transportation charges on shipments with non-binding estimates on cubic feet, volume,
time (hourly) or on any basis other than weight. Also, the federal regulations require that
shipment weights must be determined on a state certified scale with a copy of the weigh
master’s tickets provided to you in support of the final invoice.

Q When is the best time to move?

The busiest times for moving companies are typically during the summer months, May-September.
If you are planning a move during that time you should make arrangements early.

Friday and Saturdays are big moving days so if you have flexibility in your schedule it can
be easier to get a date during the week rather than a weekend.
