Braun’s Express has been operating since the early 1930’s. The original owner was Joe Braun of Medway, Massachusetts who started his business with only one truck. The business grew modestly and the company was purchased and incorporated in 1967 by Roy Nutting. The company grew even more when it developed competitive, timely delivery of airfreight outside the Boston-Route 128 area.
Although the company has grown to nearly 300 employees, eight terminals, and hundreds of trucks and trailers, owners Cynthia and David Normandin like to refer to Braun’s as a small family run business. David started with the company as a driver in 1978, worked in the office, and became President in 1981. The couple purchased the company from Mr. Nutting in 1982, and Cynthia left her profession as a schoolteacher to join her husband at the company. Eventually Cynthia grew to become the driving force behind the company; she is now President and principal owner.
