Boer’s Transfer & Storage is established!
Peter Boer sold the farm in Iowa and moved his family to Holland, Michigan. Upon his arrival in Holland, work was not as plentiful as he had hoped. Boer’s Transfer was basically a drayage company, hauling firewood, coal, trunks and luggage to and from the train depot. Of course, furniture moving completed the list of items he also hauled.
As the family grew-up, more expansion occurred and less profitable business was discontinued. Specialization developed until Boer’s Transfer was hauling household goods, both new and used

Sometimes during the course of moving it is necessary to store your household belongings – or perhaps your home just doesn’t have the closet space you need for your off-season clothes or sporting equipment. Well, we’ve got just the answer. Our heated warehouse facility offers over 30,000 square feet of storage space. Utilizing sturdy, self-sealing containers, we can safely store anything from your wedding dress to your grand piano. (In your own private, sealed container). Think of it as a personal vault for your property – safe, protected and clean.

Boer’s Transfer & Storage strives for its customers to have an enjoyable and stress-free moving experience providing you with service for all your needs. After 90 years, reliability and quality performance are at the forefront of our business. We make your experience comfortable and more importantly, we create a long lasting relationship.

Self-Storage
Our computer-controlled access lets you visit your unit 7 days a week, including holidays.

Heated Self-Storage
Our warehouse staff will access a large, wooden vault for you. You load it; Boer’s will seal it and store it in our state-of-the-art warehouse.

Full Service Storage
Similar to Heated Self-Storage but we handle all the work.

Long distance moves can be categorized into two different types – interstate and intrastate. An interstate move consists of any move crossing the state lines. An intrastate move is a long distance move which occurs within the state. With either type of move, you will receive:

Quality service at the lowest practical cost
Answerline – 24 hour telephone access with moving related information

We have many different size trucks. We will determine which size truck will be best suited for your local move. When paying by the hour, you want things to move quickly as well as carefully. With the right size truck, your move will be as efficient as possible.

Whether you would like us to do a complete pack and move, or handle just the “big stuff”, we will take every precaution necessary to deliver your goods in the same condition as when they left your previous home.

That’s why Boer’s Mayflower’s professional packers are trained in packing methods which provide maximum protection for your possessions. At their disposal are the industries finest materials to cushion, cover and protect. Q What should I do with my jewelry and other valuable items?

Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.

In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.

Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.

Q How do I prepare my appliances for moving?

Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer
must have a stabilizer installed. Again, your estimator can help you understand how these
items are properly serviced. All local moving companies have business relationships with
local service providers that handle this type of service, however full service moving
companies and national moving companies will also be able to provide all of the moving
services you require. Be sure you know who your mover will be using, as you will need to let
these people into your home to provide the service.
