Local Move
A 100 mile radius move within the same state is considered a local move by Big Sam. Local moves are typically charged based on an hourly rate and can fluctuate depending on the amount of labor that is needed.
Big Sam Movers provides packing services whether it is the whole office or just a small room. Cost for packing is often based on both the type and number of cartons needed to pack your specific items.

A long distance move is either outside of a 100-mile radius or out of the state from your original location.
Pricing is based off of the volume of your belongings and the distance they will be moved. Standard insurance is included in this price.
We provide an option for an Additional Insurance which you can purchase as well. You can inform our representatives and they will secure it on the day of the move.

Making the decision for an international move is a big decision and the beginning of an exciting time. However, it can also become a very stressful time so once you have made that decision, the logistics soon come in to play.
In addition to coordinating a whole number of things at the same time, one of your first priorities will be to arrange the packing and moving of all of your possessions. Whilst moving around the corner in your local area may be achievable with a couple of friends and a trailer, an international move involves a little more effort.

If you are receiving a non-binding estimate, the charges that your mover assesses on your
shipment must be based on the actual weight of the shipment. Your mover may not lawfully
assess transportation charges on shipments with non-binding estimates on cubic feet, volume,
time (hourly) or on any basis other than weight. Also, the federal regulations require that
shipment weights must be determined on a state certified scale with a copy of the weigh
master’s tickets provided to you in support of the final invoice.
On the day of the move you need to be present. There is paperwork to sign and you need to
show the movers exactly what is being moved. After the movers have loaded the truck you will
be ask to do a walk through. That is the time to point out anything that may have been missed
once the truck drives away they are done.
At the unload they will place boxes in rooms based on the rooms written on the boxes
(ie., bedroom, kitchen, garage). Furniture will be placed in the location you specify.
It is helpful if you already have a basic idea where you want furniture placed.
If the movers have to keep rearranging and switching furniture around it will take longer
and you are paying hourly.
