Jean-Claude Germain founded Transport J.C. Germain in 1985. Since then, the effort, determination, and dedication of its staff, combined with its management’s vision, have led the company to its current commercial success.
Over the years, each strategic decision has consolidated the company’s strong position in a highly competitive industry. Joining the TFI International group in 1998 represents one of its key decisions. Since then, Transport J.C. Germain has borne the name TFI Transport 1 L.P., becoming one of the first major acquisitions of this publicly traded multinational.
Through the years, five well-established transportation companies have merged with Transport J.C. Germain to maximize its growth and efficiency.
As it stands, the company coordinates its activities from its head office in Trois-Rivières, its Montreal facility, and its Lennoxville-based sales team that serves its US customers.
Since 2020, the company has been operating under the name TFI Transport 1 Inc. and is proudly displaying its new JCG logo.

We are specialized in general cargo transportation, the aluminum industry, the pulp and paper industry, the energy and cable industry, and many others.
Interior storage
The JCG – Logistics and Transit Center offers its customers 180,000 square feet of warehousing space and also has 250,000 square feet of outdoor storage.
The warehouses, located in the Trois-Rivières area, are served by rail, offering great flexibility in terms of transportation for the reception and shipping of merchandise. A qualified workforce will take charge of your cargo to ensure that it is received, prepared for shipment, stored, and shipped in optimal conditions. In addition, you can check your inventory via our platform.
How do I get an estimate?
Once you have compiled a list of movers, inform them of the destination and timing of your
move. Ask them about the types of services they offer. Also ask them to explain their
estimates in detail and to give you a copy. If any company refuses to give you a written
estimate, you should eliminate them from consideration. Then carefully compare to see which
mover best suits your needs and budget.
The cost of your move will be based on the actual weight of your belongings and the distance
they are shipped, plus the amount of packing and other services that you require.
To help you anticipate the cost of your move, movers will give you an estimate of the price.
Be sure to get written estimates from at least 3 different movers so that you can compare
their services and prices.
Should I have the mover come to my home to look at my goods?
You have the right to receive an estimate based on a physical (in-house) survey of your
shipment. Under the regulations, your mover must base your estimate (either binding,
non-binding, or not-to-exceed), on a physical survey of the household goods to be moved if
the goods are located with a 50-mile radius of your mover’s (or his agent’s) place of business.
You may elect to waive this requirement for a physical survey, but if you elect to do so,
you must sign a written waiver of your rights.
