McMillan Transport Ltd. was established in 1950 in Medicine Hat, Alberta – and still is the site of our head office today. Through the efforts of our principals and dedicated employees, together our company continues to enjoy steady growth.
What started out as a locally owned family business has evolved into a third-generation, full-service freight company that offers reliable transportation throughout all of Western Canada. McMillan Transport Ltd. presently has terminals in Medicine Hat and Calgary and a yard in Edmonton, with general merchandise operating authority for Western Canada, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon.

Fast and Reliable Trucking Services
McMillan Transport Ltd. is a for-hire carrier of truckload commodities for the three Western Provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan), as well as to the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. We use a client-oriented logistics system based on the construction, food and oilfield industries to provide vans and flat deck trucking services.
Our company’s steadfast dedication to client satisfaction has served us well throughout the years. Over 70 years of safe and dependable transport is testament to the quality of work we do and the manner in which we conduct business.
As a for-hire carrier with a fleet of various equipment, we provide transport services or hauling for:

Can I pack anything in the drawers of my dresser or desk?
All loose items must be packed in boxes to prevent loss or damage while moving. It is
recommended that you pack all items and leave the drawers empty.
What should I do with my jewelry and other valuable items?
Items of extraordinary value such as jewelry, money, antiques, and stamp collections
can be included in your shipment, provided that you notify your local moving representative
of these items before packing and moving day. It is strongly recommended that you carry
irreplaceable and expensive articles with you, or make alternate arrangements for their
transport.
In the moving industry, items worth more than $100 per pound are considered to be articles
of "extraordinary value.” To be assured that a claim involving these articles is not limited
to minimal liability, complete and sign your mover's high-value inventory form.
Also, be sure to sign the "Extraordinary Value Article Declaration" box, if applicable, on
your Bill of Lading.
Each mover has a slightly different procedure to follow as it relates to high-value items.
Ask your relocation specialist to provide you with an explanation of their company's process.
This is a confusing (but important) task, so be sure that you clearly understand the rules
prior to load day.
