U.S. Energy Exploration and Production
Transportation Services
American Eagle was founded in August 2011, when four managing partners with deep expertise in the oil & gas transportation/logistics services sector decided to branch out on their own to create a new kind of company, one that centered on tireless attention to customer service, safety, and the deployment of technology solutions to benefit drivers and streamline supply chains. In subsequent months and years, American Eagle grew rapidly on the backs of their hand-selected team in their headquarters office in Broussard, Louisiana, and their fast-growing terminal network in the oil patches of Texas and Oklahoma. Watch our introduction video for more on our story and the smart logistics solutions we provide to our customers.

Q What’s the difference between less than truckload and full truckload?

Less than truckload (LTL) shipping allows multiple shippers to share space on the same
truck while full truckload shipments typically travel on only one truck with one destination.

Q What is an NMFC number?

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) allocates a specific number to each product
that could be shipped. That is the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) that pairs to the
freight class best suited for the product. It’s important to include the NMFC number on the bill of
lading to reduce chances of reclassification.
