About M&J Transportation
M&J Transportation is a Kansas City based carrier, hauling local & regional loads daily. We specialize in Intermodal, Dry Van, & Flatbed freight.

In 1984, Mike and Joy set out to be something different. They saved up enough money to buy their first truck, which Mike operated himself.

Fast forward to today, they are still firm believers in hands on operations. There isn’t a job in the company that Mike won’t do. The entire M&J team of staff and drivers are dedicated to getting the job done correctly and on time. Their commitment has resulted in many customers retaining their business and personal relationships developed with M&J for over 30 years.

Since 1984, M&J Transportation has been servicing the Kansas City Area and the Greater Midwest. We specialize in Intermodal, Dry Van, & Flatbed freight. With drivers capable of handling most anything thrown at them, there rarely is a type of freight that we can’t haul! Hazmat loads included!

Our range is fairly open, as we will go anywhere we are needed! In general, our drivers stay within 250-300 miles of Kansas City, MO. Our company drivers are home EVERY NIGHT! If you want to go over the road, or just spend a few nights out in the truck, we can easily accommodate!

Local Deliveries
Needing a delivery within 350 miles of KC? You are in the right place! All of our drivers get home daily so we don’t go too far out.

Situated next to the UP rail yard, approximately 65% of our loads are intermodal.

Dedicated Loads
No matter your needs, rest assured your freight is in good hands. We don’t partial out our loads so you can rest easy knowing you’re secured.

Q What are the differences between FTL Services and LTL Services?

FTL stands for Full Truckload. A shipment that is over 10,000lb or takes up an entire truck by
itself is considered Full Truckload. One of the main characteristic of an FTL Services is that it
will take your shipment on a long haul, making one trip from point A to Point B without transferring
the cargo.

LTL stands for Less Than Truckload. If you have 200 pounds of freight to transport, you’ve got an LTL
shipment. It takes just a section of the truck and the cargo is safely consolidated with other shipments
that may be picked up and distributed in the same area.

Q How can I avoid adjustments?

Adjustments can be costly, but can mostly be avoided with accurate information.
Common adjustments occur around oversized items (more than 12 feet in length), lift-gates,
limited delivery access, residential fees, reclassifications and changes to the bill of lading.
