WE UNDERSTAND OUR CUSTOMERS’ CHALLENGES
People often ask us how we got into the trucking business. And, it actually all started when we needed
a reliable trucking service to deliver our own materials.
Back in the early 1980s, our fireproofing and insulating company, Therm-Seal, was struggling to meet client expectations because our products failed to arrive at our job sites on-time. We were having a difficult time finding a trucking company that was reliable and could deliver by deadline.
From there, our family purchased its first truck in order to do the runs ourselves, and we’ve been purchasing trucks ever since. In 2003, the trucking division flourished and TSI Kansas, Inc. was born.
TSI began writing a new chapter in their history when Jason Hall and John & Sandy Link purchased the company from Bill & Linda Hickman in January 2016. The new owners have been with TSI for a combined 50 years, and bring a new vision that will capitalize on a foundation that they helped build.

OUR FLEET
As we are a mid-sized carrier based in the Midwest, our drivers make runs for a wide variety of companies including those in the manufacturing, food distribution, product distribution, retail, and agriculture industries. Our fully loaded fleet includes:
Late model trucks, including Peterbilts, and Freightliners with APU’s
Vans, reefers, hoppers, flatbeds, RGNs, and Specialty Trailers
Full truckload (TL) is generally best suited for those looking to move more than 15,000 pounds,
or enough to justify the entire use of a semi-trailer. If you’re looking to ship more than 150 pounds
of freight, but less than 15,000, less than truckload (LTL) might be the best choice. Getting items
quickly from one point to another may call for expedited shipping services. Intermodal shipping uses
multiple modes of transportation and is great for long distances between metro areas.
If you have goods that are sensitive to climate conditions (produce, flowers, chocolate, etc.), you
will want to consider temperature controlled shipping. Freight service providers will assist you
throughout the process.
