Well, really we started back in 1964. But it’s been Truckismo all the way. Trans-United has the manpower and trucking capabilities to do it, because we only use the best drivers and equipment.

We judge success by satisfaction, because our safety is a given. Truckismo standards demand it, and we LOVE a challenge. The faster it needs to get there, the heavier the load, the more excited we are to get the job done and done right.

Trans-United is strategically located near the Port of Indiana in Burns Harbor, Indiana, serving 48 States and points international. You can take a load off knowing the Truckismo choice is the right choice.

It Takes Truckismo
We’re not your average specialized carrier — not by a long shot. We live and breathe specialized hauling. It’s what gets us out of bed in the morning and it’s what keeps us working until we know your load is going to be delivered safely and on schedule. We love the thrill and challenge of moving specialized loads throughout the United States and Canada. To do this, we have assembled a team of the most experienced drivers and operations specialists in the industry. We’ve equipped them with the best in heavy-haul tractors and specialty trailers. The result: We’re able to match the right driver and equipment to your specialized load. So you can rest assured that your shipment will be transported safely and on-time.

With 56 years in the industry we have seen it all. We use our combined experience and state of the art technology to ensure specialized moves are delivered with out unexpected delays that can be costly to any job.

If it goes on a flatbed, we have the capacity (and the desire) to move your freight. Whether it’s 500 pounds or 24,000 pounds, it doesn’t matter. At Trans-United, LTL is the most active part of our operation and we serve this market daily with the experience and equipment to safely move your machinery or fabrications.

Your freight is handled by drivers who have the know how to secure, protect, and transport your valuable shipments. We also know that meeting shipping and delivery schedules is part of our job and that is what you will get each and every time. And, all of our trucks are equipped with the tarps, straps, and chains necessary to protect your shipment while in route to make sure it arrives in prime condition. Just like it’s supposed too.

Q What is a bill of lading?

The bill of lading (BOL) acts as an invoicing receipt in the shipping industry, and with many
motor carriers, the BOL is the contract of carriage between that motor carrier and the shipper.
It includes important information related to the shipment such as addresses, packaging type,
freight class, description of the goods and any special instructions.

Q How do I determine freight class?

There are 18 freight classes. They are determined by weight, dimensions, density, storage capability,
ease of handling, value and liability from instances like theft, damage, breakability and spoilage.
To help you determine freight class, we’ve developed a freight density calculator.
