Our Story:

Born and raised in Boston, John DeFazio, Sr. was in the transportation industry before the combustible engine was mainstream, delivering meat and produce via horse and carriage to vendors throughout Boston’s historic North End.

As the motor vehicle became universal, John Sr hopped on the proverbial bandwagon and purchased a truck, thereby becoming one of Boston’s first local same-day/rush truckers in Boston.

In 1995 First Call Trucking moved from a one-room office in the South End to a 2,000 square foot warehouse in South Boston’s Marine Industrial Park. In addition to same-day/rush trucking, we also began to provide warehousing, storage and distribution for a number of clients not just in Boston, but also nationally.

As the industry has evolved, so has First Call. We now reside in Beverly, Mass with a niche in air-freight, inside P&D’s, and the delivery of time sensitive materials. Our clients range from freight forwarders and customs house brokers to bio-tech and manufacturing companies. Through not just decades but over a century, the First Call ethos has remained the same: our goal has always been and remains to provide our clients with exceptional service, accurate quotes, and fair pricing.

Our dock-high, box trucks are able to handle any load, from dock to dock shipments to inside-deliveries and “white glove services”.

Air & Ocean Freight
The distribution of air and ocean freight is our niche and as such we are in and out of the Boston air and ocean cargo facilities daily. Our TSA Certified drivers have passed a rigorous STA clearance allowing them to deliver cargo directly to the airports (our main hub is Logan International Airport in Boston). We are fully compliant and up-to-date on all new TSA regulations affecting freight and its distribution.
