From a local cartage company into one of the premier regional LTL, LCL, and Air Freight cartage companies in the market

Over 40 years of progress

In March of 1980, Mike Moran purchased the assets of a small, struggling cartage company in Elk Grove Village, Illinois called UVS Motor Freight. The tiny company operated 5 old trucks of various sizes and a staff of 5 drivers and office staff. The original team of 5 provided local 30-mile radius cartage within the Chicago Commercial market.

By June of 1985, the company had grown threefold and the organization purchased its first new trucks acquiring two new 1985 Ford C8000 straight trucks. At the same time, the company was re-branded under the current name Moran Transportation Corporation and our new green trucks and Leprechaun logo were installed on the first of many new trucks to be ordered.

Over the next 40-plus years, we would continue to grow from a local cartage company into one of the premier regional LTL, LCL, and Air Freight cartage companies in the market. Our goal has always been to provide our customers with very reliable service focusing on on-time and claim-free service. Today we operate seven service centers servicing the States of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Minnesota with our Midwest sort center being located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

Our team provides very timely and accurate LCL (less than container load) and air freight services to all forwarders throughout the World through our multi-terminal network. Our team operates from several terminals within our market giving us the ability to be very flexible, very timely, and very accurate when handling your air or ocean business.

With two main hubs located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois near Chicago’s O’Hare Airport (ORD) and Eagan, MN (MSP), we are perfectly positioned to provide your pick-up and delivery service to our core points within the Midwest.

We provide daily sweeps through O’Hare (ORD) and the surrounding forwarder pick-up points with next-day DTC delivery to your customers or from your customers into the ORD. We are a TSA-certified and hazardous-certified carrier and have one of the largest freight hubs in the O’Hare market (ORD).
